526.98 drivers#

so i reverted back to 526.98ĮDIT 10: under drivers 526.98 crashes still occur after only 2 hours, but at least i can play for 2-3 hours without crashing. sent crash reports when i could, but most of the crashes basically bricked my OS: ie the system needed a button reset because the system basically froze, resulting in many non-crash-reported crashes.ĮDIT 9: under drivers 528.02, crashed 5 times is a 4 hour play session, so reverted back to 527.37: unfortunately, water didn't render correctly in Tangled Depths, and the game randomly shutdown (alt + f4 style, without pressing that key combo).

526.98 Patch#

there were a few (ie maybe 1 a day, during 6 hour play sessions) times where the client would just close (like ALT+F4 closing, but without the button presses) in WvW at the beginning of large map blob vs map blob fights.ĮDIT 7: the random closing seems to have stopped completely after the lunar new year patch, but i'm still not running discord on the PCĮDIT 8: the 18 january patch (ventari tablet fix) appears to have broken the game for me again.

526.98 update#

testing without DiscordĮDIT 6: so, the driver update in edit 5, plus NOT using discord (i have not used discord on the gaming rig since the crashes) appears to have worked.

526.98

as GW2 still randomly closed in the middle of a Zerg vs Zerg fight in WvW with discord on a different device.ĮDIT 3: reverting Video drivers to one release prior to most recent (527.37)ĮDIT 4: driver change didn't stop the crashing eitherĮDIT 5: installing 528.02 drivers.

526.98 pro#

PC specs: AMD 5900x, Asus Crosshair Extreme mobo, 32 GB G.Skill trident NeoZ ram 3600 c 16, samsung 980 pro 1T NVMe, 2x EVGA RTX 2070 super NvLink, Windows 11 pro (most recent build), Nvidia drivers are up to dateĮDIT 2: it appears that NOT running discord on the same PC is not the issue. (normally i can play for 12 hours straight with no issues.) will update the thread again before next patch with update if it keeps crashing mulitple times in a single play session. I always reinstall video drivers after a Windows 11 update, but today i repaired the client using the -repair tag. and my PC handles 3 way map blob fights quite well in WvW)

526.98

i re-installed video drivers before New Year (because of 4 crashes in 2 hours) and it appeared to fix the crashing, but then it started again today, crashing twice in 30 minutes.Īnother note, is that it seems to happen about the beginning of a zerg vs zerg fight in WvW (this was not a problem before the wintersday patch, so i highly doubt it was nefarious enemy hacks. however, another guildee, who runs WIndows 10, had a random GW2 close while the guild was in voice on discord in WvW today. I don't know if this is related to the december Windows 11 patch, or the Wintersday update, or from running Discord at the same time as playing GW2 (this was not a problem before the wintersday update). When it does ask for a crash report, i send it. Or 2) random closing (as if someone pressed Alt+F4, but no one did.) I don't know what's going on, but GW2 is randomly closing /crashing a lot for since Wintersday patch, more so since the New Year.ġ) spawn the crash report window.
